Paypal (Netspend) MC Debit Card

The newest craze is AMEX Bluebird.

But with the recent death of purchasing Vanilla reloads at Office Depot, some felt that Bluebird would go the way of dinosaurs.

Not so.

Bluebird is one of those special creatures that can adapt. This bird survives not only on Vanilla, but also on Chocolate. MMS has described the various pieces of chocolate it can be fed, including WF, UFB, Alaska and Delta. I am here to talk about another piece of chocolate.

Paypal debit card can be obtained by most anyone with a Paypal account. They have a business and consumer version. I am here to talk about the business version. They do request a SSN, so if you are hesitant, then please stop reading.

Once you have the debit card, the next step is to load your Paypal account. Or you can load your account then get the debit card. Your account can be loaded via several different reload cards, including Moneypak and the Paypal branded card.

I have heard Moneypaks purchased with CC are few and far between. I have no experience. What I have had success with is purchasing the Paypal branded reload cards at CVS and Rite-Aid.

You can see the fees and limits associated with the PP Debit here:

https://cms.paypal.com/cgi-bin/marke...DebitCard_full

For the lazy ones:

-Daily load limit with PP reload is $1,000.00/DAY (not 24 hrs)
-Monthly load limit is $5,000.00/month (no evidence of calendar or 30 days)
-Daily spending limit is $3,000.00
-Daily ATM Limit: $400.00 $1.00 fee plus whatever is charged by the ATM owner

The business version comes with a 1% cashback program for any non-PIN based transactions.

So...

1. Purchase Paypal branded reload cards ($3.95 fee/card)
2. Load Paypal account (see limits above)
3. "Apply" for Paypal MC debit card
4. Load Bluebird at Walmart (limits do apply)
5. Cashback requests at all applicable stores

This is good for credit cards that offer bonuses at drugstores or if you are trying to meet a minimum spend.

I have found some CVS that sell Vanilla, but I have seen the Paypal cards at all the CVS I have gone to. Rite-Aid carries Paypal. I stay away from Walgreens since the one I went to showed me their register that says CASH only.

Enjoy and have fun.

Interesting. This might be worth checking out in the new year. I've never had a Netspend card.

1% cashback program only works if you have Paypal Premier or PayPal Business account.

Cycling PP reloads thru any PP account is almost certain to raise alarm bells, so tread carefully. And dealing with PP is always a pain in the backside...

the various reloads are easy enough to drain without crossing streams, methinks.

Just don't load it up with any money you can't afford to have held up for a couple months. Keep your balance low and you won't get hurt much if they freeze your account and hold onto your funds.

i'd never trust paypal. i don't move large amounts of money at all, and last week, my account was randomly frozen. i had to just send in my driver's license, but i would not want to be messing with that kind of stuff with large sums.
