25000 MIles from MCI: Question
Has anyone tried to get 25000 miles from MCI for a second phone line in the same person's name? MCI says it will give onle 1000 miles for the second connection? But has anyone gotten lucky? Will it work if I give a different airlines say delta for the first line and continental for the second?
thanks
thanks

Venkat....I think I've seen posts where people have gotten that. The usual advise is to call back a few times to try to get the answer you want. That worked for me in getting my first 25,000 miles from MCI.
jeffreyt....there IS some overlap in these forums. I see that there have been some recent postings re Diners Club, WorldPerk and Alaska Air in the buzz. Personally, I don't see it as worth pointing out.

Hi SteveB
Thanks for your reply. I don't see much activity in the MCI forum and my posting in Buzz could be helpful to others who may not have thought about miles for the second line.

I am enjoying the 50,000 miles I was awarded. Make sure you do each phone line as a separate call. I did it on a second day, and from each respective phone line, just to be on the safe side.
I noticed when I changed over line 1, they offered a 1,000 bonus if I had a second line. I said no thanks.

SteveB,
JonToner's tag is already more or less copyrighted, as it were. It's from The Prisoner TV series from the 60s, argueably the most intelligent sci-fi show ever produced.
Any other Prisoner fans on FT?

I did attempt to have two lines post seperate 25,000 miles to my SkyMiles account and for a while it was working. Then one day after logging on to mci's account manager to see if anything had posted, I noticed that the total miles from both of my lines were indicated on both accounts. So someone was doing some checking. I called and they assured me the only way to get two seperate 25k to post was to post them to two different skymiles accounts. So I had the second line switched back to my OnePass account, and they didn't have a problem with that. Other's may have had better luck than I did with this particular issue, but frankly, I don't have the time to toy around much, so I'm happy with what I'm getting.

Yes, I am getting the miles on the same airlines. I receive 5,000 on or around the 8th of the month (my voice line), and another 5,000 on or around the 21st of the month (my data line).
As my tag line is from The Prisoner, I can't stop you. That isn't to say that a room full of lawyers from ITC can't.
The Prisoner is just a fantastic TV show. A MOVIE IS IN THE WORKS! McGoohan is on the project, so I expect it to be close to form to the series.
The balloon thing (rover) was what they used a "watchdog". The show spend big $ on a robotic, futuristic looking thing, but it promptly sank to the bottom of the lagoon on the first shoot.
I am currently saving FF miles for a trip to Europe, and would absolutely love a trip to the Hotel Portmeirio (the village). It is located in Wales.

I suspect my wife would be a little less than patient with such an escapade, especially with three little ones in tow. I suspect this is a mid-life-crisis trip 20 years hence.
Growing up in Cambridge (Mass, not UK) I was turned on to the show as a teen by some friends who noted some similarities between my never-give-an-inch-rebel-against-authority personality (who now has a wife, three kids, a dog, a mortgage on a white house with a picket fence, and President of the local Little League).
I had the series on tape, however a flooded basement destroyed those. I don't get the Sci-Fi channel, and the only video store which carries them is 2 towns over. If anyone could tape some from TV, I will happily pay for tapes and shipping! (I think that would avoid video piracy issues, but I'm no lawyer)

I'll check around some of the large video stores in No. California area and let you know what I find, I loved that series too. If I can I'll rent them and tape em
. I'll be in Boston with Baze on the 11th of Sept to the 15th so if I'm able to get them I'll let you know via e-mail.
Cheers Scott

Unfortunately, I will be in DFW and MSY during the days you are in Boston. I also now live in Western Mass (about 2 hours).
So I think UPS is the best route to go. Please let me know whatever expenses you incur.
Thanks very much!

Jon Toner,
This is your lucky day. You can order the entire, 17-tape series from Columbia House Re-TV. They are nicely remastered and repackaged. First one is $4.95 and subsequent tapes are $19.95. I'll dig around for the 800 number and post it tomorrow.
Cheers,
Samantha
