E*Trade Miles
Buzz or Omni...I don't know
E*Trade gives 5000 to 25000 miles for opening an account that must remain in place for only six months. You only have to open the account and let the $ sit in the cash fund if you don't want to gamble on an equity.
They promise 6-8 weeks for the miles to show up and they were promptly there at 7 1/2 weeks.
I think there was a deadline so perhaps you'll want to check this out promptly.

Sorry about the dup posting. That's the second time I've had to be 'chided' by one of you old-timers.
I did due diligence (Ithought) by searching for E-Trade, E*Trade, E, Trade, and brokerage but came up empty. Think I'll just hang it up and lurk until I have something I'm sure is new.

363336,
Consider yourself very lucky indeed. I opened four $1000. accounts June 14th; one for myself, and one each for my wife and daughters. I was entitled to 5000 sign up bonus, and 5000 x 3 for the referral bonus. On August 1, United posted two 5000 referral bonuses to my account. No miles yet posted to my wife or daughters accounts. I am awaiting a response to my e-mail to E-trade re: the missing miles. ([email protected])

Referral data as follows:
In addition to getting 5K, 10K or 25K for yourself, you can refer up to ten friends to earn 5000 each for yourself per year.
If you'll send me an E-mail to indicate your interest, I will E-mail United/E*Trade and they will contact you with an E-mail invitation which will register me as your referral.
Sooooo, if you're so inclined, E-Mail me:
[email protected] with your current E-Mail address and I'll send it in. I only need about four to reach my max for this year and I will turn back to another FT'er the ones I can't use to good advantage.
(Don't know how to make that e-mail address hot so I guess you'll have to type it.
Thanks all
Chuck

I opened Etrade with $10000. Etrade gave me only 5000 miles initially. After several emails complaining and chiding from me for the balance 5000 miles, Etrade posted another 10000 miles. so extra 5000 miles for the complaining. sweet ending I guess.
BTW if you are going to open a new account with Etrade email me and I can refer your name thru email. We both get 5000 miles. My email is [email protected]
Thanks & regards

I opened an account months ago - the first one took about 6 months to get the miles - numerous calls, threats etc.
The same problem AGAIN with my second account. Once they're in I'm closing all the accounts and going somewhere else - in fact anywhere else!

I too have had nothing but problems opening an account with E*Trade and still doi not have the miles posted. For those of you whom are AA out there, any problems with Waterhouse? They seem to have a better program as they reward you for staying with them.

This is the ORIGINAL thread dealing with UA referral miles:
http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/Foru...ML/000659.html
Hello,
If you are about to open a new Etrade account for the 5K/10K bonus miles, please let me refer you by sending me an email. Etrade will then send you an email and you will need to follow the directions there for both of us to get our miles. I might also be able to get you the free trade ($19.95 credit) as I have for many of you. Please note this offer is good for new customers of Etrade only. So if you have an existing account, shut it down and reopen one to get more miles. Thanks

vgrove....
In following my own thread tonight came across yours of 8/12. Hope you realize I did not mean to 'step on toes' in my blatant plea for referral e-mails.
If the 'search' feature worked I would have known your thread was out there.
For what it's worth, I did not receive even one reply.
Regards,
Chuck
PS..As I said earlier in this thread, I'm going to hang it up until I can reliably search to see what you cats have been posting!!

I opened an $5000 account with E*trade at the end of April under a promotion they had in conjunction with AA and ClickRewards and I got 15,000 ClickMiles credited to my account in June. When ClickRewards had their double miles redemption offer in June and July, I transferred 10,000 ClickMiles for 20,000 AAdvantage FF miles. Then, unexpectedly, another 10,000 ClickMiles was posted to my account from E*Trade. I am waiting to see if they just as quickly disappear.
