Free Reservations Software (until 9/1/99)

The Air Travel Manager 3.02 software is available for free download until Sept 1, 1999. After that it jumps to approx $59 to renew to the full featured version. I just saved about $500 yesterday on a multi-legged trip by using it's alternate cities feature. Seems to have some very nice features (ie world-wide routing), but also lacks some too (ie no seat maps located as yet). I am learning as I fumble on. Never-the-less......the price is REALLY right, and it is a proven program using Travelocity (Sabre) as its' engine. Good Luck!

INFO FROM THE ATM SITE:

Air Travel Manager Version 3 is now available. Version 2 can no longer be used due to the retirement of easySABRE(sm) on 6/15/99. Click here for more information and to download Version 3.

Total control, see up to 50 flight options per leg with up to 4 trip legs on a single screen. Sort results , print reports, save and recall off-line.

Low Fare Finder checks 12 combinations of alternate cities and dates for you in a single step. Returns up to 100 lowest price trips on a single screen.

DOT Average Fare Data instantly provided (stored internally) for each leg of your trip. See the average cost paid and the major and cheapest carriers and their costs. View the cheapest nearby city pair and then automatically query it.

Unbiased displays, no 'filtering' out of low cost airlines, no 'preferred suppliers' and absolutely no advertising!

AirTM integrates priced itineraries and complete flight schedules giving you the best of both approaches in one step.

No more tedious, step-by-step web pages or airline codes. Surf the Net while AirTM does all of the work for you in the background!

MisterNice:

Where does it talk about free for download till 9/1. All I could find was the following statement.

"Air Travel Manager is freely available with a limited feature set. Activating all of its features requires payment of the registration fee of $59."

I am in the process of downloading, but it looks like all I am going to get is the limited version. Could you tell me if/how I can get the full version for free.

Thanks for the tip.

The limited version will still do a lot of things but I frankly don't see much advantage to the software. You can only book 4 leg trips. The full version shows you more alternatives for each leg.

I did a comparison. I tried to book a relatively simple November flight using ATM (Calgary-Paris-Douala) and ITN. ATM came back with garbage and error messages (which Travelocity will also do). I could simplify the routing to Toronto-Paris-Douala and ATM could handle the routing but came up with an outrageously expensive fare.

ITN provided me with several options that were priced appropriately (lower than ATM by $2000). ITN also showed me seats available in different fare classes so I know which flights are likely upgradeable.

i used the demo to test the alternate airport scenario. i asked for a trip from pensacola to toronto (and alternate cities around toronto). the alternates were buffalo-61 miles, niagara falls-47 miles, and HAMBURG, GERMANY-72 MILES.

it does have some nice features, but still needs some bugs worked out of it.

BLADE- I found info re your request to me under "Registration Benefits" on the main page of the downloaded program. It says you get the big enchilada until 9/1/99 when it reverts to a lesser version, unless you want to pay your money and register. Unfortunately I am unable to copy it for you. Please look it up when you have time.
