Buying miles... worth it?
I make several hundred k miles per year and spend them on premium travel or getting my
wife to join me somewhere fun on the globe. I do not normally buy miles but a circumstance would be to gain an inexpensive premium class ticket for which I could deduct the purchase of miles as a tax benefit. Purchase and flight have to be clearly connected.
For those who do not fly regularly for work, or fun, I can see buying up.

hey guys.. new to FT. Just bought the UA miles with the 40% discount. Stay in HKG, thought US business class ticket at effectively USD 2700 or Hawaii @ USD 1700 from Asia defo worth it. It seems to be cheaper than what some of these mileage broker companies seem to be offering tickets at, and I am sure all the more legit.

2nd: as long as your flexible and driven to redeem your miles for J or F class it is always worth it.
