Help with PHL-FLL please:)
Hi all,
I am looking to book 4 tickets from PHL (or nearby) to FLL (or nearby) using miles. Normally we'd just pay, but fares are really high because it is for Thanksgiving week & work isn't really flexible with which days we can take off.
We have 50k + 50k USAirways miles and about 120k combined Chase UR.
It looks like using the UR for Southwest might work out (about 20k per ticket).
I just wanted to put it out there for ideas before making a move.
We are planning to take a cruise & originally were going to drive to Baltimore. However, there are better ships with better itineraries from FL. We just don't have the budget for the cruise AND the flights.
Thanks so much!

You can transfer Chase UR points to British Airways, then book domestic AA flights through them. From NYC, PHL and BWI, it is 15k roundtrip to Miami, per person. So you'd need just 60k Chase UR points to get everyone down to Miami.
Check the AA website for availability at the Saaver level (nothing from PHL for Thanksgiving week and after, but some out of EWR, and all into MIA, not FLL), then create a BA account, transfer the points, and go through their website to book the tickets.

Consider driving down to Baltimore and flying from BWI to Fort Lauderdale on Southwest. With Southwest's current sale it is only 9,240 Rapid Rewards points for each round trip ticket on select dates at the end of November.
