Which is better hotel option with points?

A. 80k points priority card and staying 3 nights at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard for 25k points each and purchasing one more night

B. Hyatt CC with 2 free nights staying at Grand Hyatt Singapore for 2 nights (category 5) and using UR points (either 36k or 44k points-don't understand the different room types) to purchase the other 2 nights

Moderator---don't exactly know which forum to post this so feel free to move it

Thanks in advance

It depends on what you prioritize.

If you want no out of pocket cash, then obviously Hyatt CC + UR transfer accomplishes that. The Holiday Inn seems to get a slightly better rating on tripadvisor (#15 vs. #19) though I don't think you'll get the same luxury experience that you would at the Grand Hyatt. The Grand Hyatt also won a tripadvisor award, which the HI didn't.

You'll spend 44k points for the two nights -- Category 5 is 22k per night -- so factor that in as well. You're effectively paying 88k points for the four nights (because the two nights "saves" you 44k UR points) vs. 80k + $$.

I can't imagine a scenario where I'd stay at the Holiday Inn under these circumstances.

Get the Chase Priority Club Card and stay in Orchard Road. You should be spending most of your time outside the hotel, not inside it.

You haven't finished figuring out the costs, I think.

What is included in each room?

While the Priority Club Select card gives you automatic Platinum status, that gives you no chainwide benefits. You have to research whether it gives you any benefits (like free breakfast and/or free internet) at that particular hotel.

I'm not that familiar with Hyatt, so I'm not sure what elite status level you get with the card and what that means in terms in-hotel benefits. Others will have to chime in on that (or you'll have to figure that out yourself).

I'm not sure about Singapore, specifically, but in all too many countries breafkast and internet can be high-cost add-ons if they're not free (either due to the hotel, due to the room rate, or due to your status). But of course, it also depends whether you care about those benefits at all (not everyone does).

Finally, are there any significant differences with location? Again, I know nothing about Singapore, but in some countries one hotel program has a less fancy hotel in a great location while another hotel program has a fancier hotel but in a more isolated, less practical location.
