Did you look at the rules for the challenge?

"Qualifying flights on American Airlines, American Eagle, AmericanConnection®, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Qantas, US Airways and their eligible codeshare flights count toward your challenge."

i.e. not CX

I am still confused about this. If a flight has an AA flight number but on another carrier like MH, would that flight qualify for plat challenge? For example flight AA 7435 from KUL-LHR is operated by MH. So if I booked in the right fare class for that flight would the points qualify for plat challenge?

Star Alliance status match

try A3 status match and you will get lifetime gold

Hello, I'm a DL GM, and I'm considering matching it with either TK or A3, for *A Gold. Which one, do you think, I should go for? (EDIT: easier to retain, no issues using the *A Gold benefits, etc. (for example, properly showing the gold status on the boarding passes, etc.)).

Also, do you really get *A gold lifetime if you match it to A3? And, do they do status matches?

Thanks! :)

Requested status match from AA Platinum to AB Topbonus Gold. Approved and received Topbonus Gold card and 2 luggage tags within 1 month. Card arrived while in Thailand but was able to use lounges in Bangkok, Abu Dhabi, and Dusseldorf by showing gate-keepers my Topbonus status on my ipad.

What's the email address you used , thanks .

A3 does not status match, so its not an option. With A3, keeping gold status requests some activity on the account.
So, you can try TK.

.. and then getting gold with A3 is easy. Fly *A and credit 20,000 miles or so to get gold and retain it for 3 years. You can use your TK status match to still access the lounge while doing this ^

Woooowww!!! Awesome! Can we really credit the miles to A3, if we want to use *A Gold benefits through TK? Doesn't TK FF number have to appear on your BP?

But, Thank you so much, flashware. That's an incredible idea. ^^ :)

FlyerTalk!!!! I'm Lovin' it! ^^^ (Note: the McD ref. :D ...haha)

Any SkyTeam / Flying Blue / One World airlines matching (not interested in challenges) *A Gold at the moment?

Thanks.

I am ExecPlat on AA. Looking to get matched on United. Do you think this is possible?
I am fed up with AA...no upgrades. Not even the systemwide ones work. And I get on flights and see OPEN SEATS in Business and First class.

any advice is appreciated!

Are you really EXP??
I have a 99% upgrade rate over the past two years.
If you aren't getting upgrades, it is likely that you don't understand how the upgrade process works.
