I am not sure if I posted this in here but as a data point I applied for the Delta status match over to Gold early this fall. In the meantime I applied for the AMEX Delta Platinum card for the mileage and to see if the MQMs would get me the required amount needed. Lo and behold what I considered a really long shot actually worked. I have Delta Gold status through 2015. ;)

How long has it been since your challenge expired? They're pretty good at auditing Challenges well after 6 months. They're just super slow......

Applied on 16.07 with A3*G, follow ups on 02.09 and 10.09.

Their response today:

"We have received your e-mail message. Firstly, we do apologize for late response. Upon your request, we have upgraded your card status to Elite status."

AS MVP Gold does not match to anything domestically. But how about Internationally? I'd like to match before I expire next month. Are there any OW or ST international FFP that will match Alaska?

They downgraded me today to Silver status without any communication...

May I ask how you contacted EVA Air? I've looked quite extensively on their website, but I found no email address whatsoever.

They talked to match my CA Gold to the EVA Gold, but they ended up with the Silver Status, pretty useless within StarAlliance.
Contact them searching between the local EVA Sales offices in EU.

On the old M&B website there used to be a picture of a gold M&B card with the account holder's name on it (although not the same as the real thing of course) which i printed, photographed and sent, and i'm now matched to Turkish. (This will not help you now due to the (contravertial) changes in M&B's website.)

Probably not as MVP Gold is not a top tier plus AS is not member of any of the big 3 alliances.

Well turkish gold (elite) is also not a top tier as there is Turkish Elite Plus. Its definitely worth a try. Just follow instructions in post #836.

So it means that if I get a match in January 2015 this will be valid through January 2017. If I fly 25k miles in 2015 do I get the status extended until January 2019?

No. Turkish only matches top-tier alliances.

I asked for a UA Platinum challenge on 19th Nov and on 22nd Nov they replied me with an approval of gold like this:

"Congratulations! You have been awarded a trial period of Premier® Gold status in the MileagePlus® program valid until 03/01/2015! This will make your travel with us comfortable, simple and more rewarding than ever.
To remain a Premier Gold member through January 31, 2016, you will need to fly 12,500 Premier qualifying miles (PQM) or 15 Premier qualifying segments (PQS) on flights operated by United®, United Express® or Copa between 12/01/2014 through 03/01/2015.*

But after several days, when I emailed UA Mileageplus department to ask about when my account would be changed into Gold status (because I booked UA flights and wanted to choose seats). I got a reply like this:

"We are unable to confirm that your will become a premier Gold member in December 1, 2014 since there is no record showing this information in your account. "

I am so confused and email them again but I still haven't got any reply from UA for several days. I called but the CS replied the same information.

Anyone experience this? Today is 1st Dec and my account has not been changed. What should I do next?

I was so surprised to see on statusmatcher.com that 2 people got matched from Aegean Blue to Turkish Gold! It shows how lax Turkish are being about spewing out Gold cards as status matches! Maybe they will stop it soon...

You cant really trust everything listed on the site :) It is highly unlikely tk would match A3 blue to gold...

My wife and I both received status matches A3 to TK.

Opps... Just realized you mentioned BLUE to GOLD - sorry, we were both GOLD.

I emailed Air china for match from Aegean Gold, they told me they would match me when i show them my first booking with them. I sent the same email to the following email addresses (the first ones cooperated the best):

By the way, its not easy to compile a list of airlines that do status matching to at least gold, because some airlines (and hotels) give matches to certain airlines only, for example Club carlson hotels only match to the following:

Hilton,Marriott,Hyatt,Starwood,Intercontinental,SA S- Eurobonus,Azimut,Accor,NH Hotels,Melia Hotels,Rotana,Jumeirah International.
And From my own experience, El Al Airlines wouldn't match Aegean gold but would match Turkish gold.
Alaska Airlines offer matches only to:
AeroMexico, Air Canada, American,Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, Jet Blue, Southwest, United, US Airways, and Virgin America.
Delta do not match to Aegean Gold or Turkish gold.
Gulfair Falcon flyer seem to match anyone.
Virgin Atlantic gave me silver, and fast track to gold(20 points instead of silver).
