Help with Avios points!!!
I checked AA site and see availability to flight west coast to HNL (Hawaii) in May/June for 45k miles round trip AAMilesSaver. However, I can't see any availabilities on BAEC. Can I just call BA to book this route since I know there is open seat on AA? Please advise.

Yes if it doesn't show on ba.com just call BA an they can book it for you. But you probably won't be able to get then to waive the fee even though the routing isn't bookable online.

you sure??? Doesn't BA charge less miles than AA? So that would still apply?
another issue is that BA is the worst in wait time to actually speak with someone there

If you see the flights available on the AA engine, but not BA, you might try searching + 7 days then searching -7 days. I have had my requested flights pop up after doing this for some reason.

Another possibility... did you check the flight details beyond availability? If the available flights are on Hawaiian or Alaska, they won't show on the BAEC engine. Alaska flights are bookable through the phone only, and Hawaiian is not a BA partner.

It is hit and miss with BA on their availability tool. Just call them and explain it was not showing on their website and they should waive the phone ticketing fee. Also be careful as the agents have tried to get me to pay $1xx in taxes on Hawaii redemptions when it should only be the sept 11 security fee...
