Chase Sapphire MasterCard
Not sure if this has already been covered and should be merged with another thread, but...
There is now a Chase Sapphire that is very clearly designated and being promoted as the MasterCard version that offers a 40,000 point bonus upon approval.
This is different from the standard Visa card and will allow a whole bunch of people to earn a whole bunch of points! The beauty of this offer is that Chase has clarified that a sign-up bonus can be earned on the card. It also seems to be good timing since a lot of people are about to hit the anniversary of their accounts and will have an annual fee coming due.
Summary.

Might need to recheck your links. When I clicked through the two MC links, I got only a 40K offer with no indication it was a MasterCard (I also clicked the two Visa links just to be sure the links hadn't gotten reversed--same offer there). Might be an issue with my browser (tried both Firefox and Chrome), but with everything that's been going on with Chase in the past several days, who knows?

Of course if you go to mastercard.com you can find a link to a 50k offer so no need to apply under a 40k offer unless you feel like being particularly generous to your favorite blogger.

This is good to know. I didn't know the link could be found there. I will update my post accordingly. Thanks!

The links are correct, thanks. You are correct that there is no mention on the application page of the card being a MasterCard. I didn't know until moments ago that a better offer (50K) was available by going through the MasterCard website. Thanks to all for setting me straight.
Edit; just checked your site and it was also linked to the now defunked 50k MC and not the 40k offer.
Wonder if anyone trying the 40k offer can still "bump" up to the now dead 50k offer??
