BR is in progress to become an official *A carrier hopefully early next year, and currently a partner with NH and UA that you can earn and redeem miles for flights. BR has many Taiwan-Mainland China but not intra-Mainland China routes. I did enjoy BR's service when I had a few times flying with it. BR and CI both have quite constrained rules in term of mileage expiration and redemption, so I would recommend to deposit the miles flown on BR or CI metals to their partners instead.

1.I just checked China Southern airlines offical website, the price is about $US530 round trip include tax and fees. And I can see they have 2 economy and 2 fiirst award seats every flight from CAN to MDG.China Southern airline is a skyteam member.
2.You can book an Air China award seat from CAN to PEK,use your co/ua miles.but you have to buy tickets for PEK to MDG,it's about $US340 round trip include tax and fees.
