Need a carry on Bag? Get 3X ClickPoints

ClickRewards is celebrating e-bags joining its growing family of merchants with this offer from an E-Mail I received:

As a special offer for ClickRewards members, earn TRIPLE miles when you purchase the Samsonite 700 Series Carry-On Upright
Suiter--that's three ClickMiles for every dollar spent! This bag is now available
at a low price of only $179.99-- 40% off the retail price--and pay no tax* or shipping charges during the eBags Summer Special. Take advantage of this offer while supplies last!
Also, sign up now to become a NEW eBags member and receive an additional 20% off your first purchase.

SO I broke down and bought the bag in jade, got 20 percent off and 431 Click Rewards points.

It says it will fit in the overhead. I'll see.

Plus my 33 year old bag is not what it used to be!

Of course the math people here will calculate whether I'm getting the most of my $ but I think I did ok.

I heard that Clickrewards may offer the double transfer promotion again, in which case you would get 862 miles.

How old did you say "it" was? If you're still toting "it" after 33 years, "it" should last at least another 33 years.

I noticed the e-bags offer, too. I'd been eyeing (is that spelled right?) what I believe to be that exact same bag at my local Samsonite outlet for $169.99 and ended up buying it (in black) direct from Samsonite through Onsale for $89.99+$12.00 shipping (total $101.99). They periodically have that bag (I notice it's not listed now as I am posting this message) and you don't get any clickmiles but still it's a pretty good price.

BTW, the reason I got it was that I really liked my "old" Samsonite carry-on bag (from about a year ago) but the large wheels meant that I couldn't get the bag through the stencils on some of the x-ray machines. (Can everybody spell "DENVER"?) Anyway, I got my new carryon and like it, though not as much as my older one because the smaller wheels just don't work as well. Oh, and it fits quite well in the overhead compartments (I'd had some problems with my older bag in NWA's DC9s and MD80s).

There's a review on this bag and others.
