Flight Tracker Pro vs FlightAware

My apologies if this is the wrong forum, but there doesn't seem to be a good one for it...

I recently downloaded FlightAware (free) and FlightTacker Pro ($9.99) for my iPhone. The former because it was free and the latter because of David Pouge's recommendation and for the fact that it could sync with TripIt.

So far I have been really impressed with FA and really disappointed with FTP. Twice now the FTP app has informed me of delays that never actually materialized or were eventually pulled in. Had I listened to the app and waited to arrive at my gate, I would've missed my flight (FTP showed 45 min delay and flight departed from gate 7 minutes early). FA on the other hand seemed to know well in advance that the delay the airline put up was wrong, that they were going to switch aircraft and only be delayed an hour as opposed to 2.5 hours.

I'm just wondering if my experiences were rare flukes or if I should just trash FTP and stick with FA even though it doesn't sync with TripIt. There's also the issue of having to pay a yearly fee for higher capabilities within FA. Any of you have suggestions? I travel mainly with US Airways if that helps.
