Eurostar

I took the Eurostar a couple of weeks ago and while I was in the business lounge (courtesy of using my Amex Platinum card) I signed up for the Eurostar Frequent Traveller program.

Today I got a reject letter since I used my U.S. address. I could reapply using my French address, but I don't want to join if they are that strict. I really didn't see much benefit, but I join the programs by habit.

Is anyone else a member and is it really worth it?

I'm a member. And no, unless you use Eurostar every week, it isn't worth it. They have some awards on United and British Midland though and I hope that oneday we can get miles on my airline FF instead.

I only take Eurostar once in a blue moon. Hey I didn't know one can use the lounge with an AX Plat card.

Thanks, I didn't either. Please don't tell us now that it is just for European Nationals or that it simply does not apply for US residents!

FYI United will give miles for Eurostar trips. here's a clip from the UAL site (under Mileage plus - other partners -eurostar)
750 miles per paid segment in Premium First Fare , 500 miles per paid segment in First Class Full Fare or Normal First Fare, 250 miles per paid segment in Second Class Full Fare or Weekender Fare.
Call United for credit procedures, I think you have to mail in the used boarding passes/tickets for the credits. Hope you guys saved those old ones.

Yeah, you have to mail in for credit and hope they do their work properly. Not worth it for 500 miles if you ask me.

I believe that the promotional materials (this is way back - fuzzy) i believe that you may get it for lille (where is that? you know americans and their geography...) too. the site itself doesnt mention it. try, see what happens...
