Puerto Rico Advice?
I live in Los Angeles and wanted to take my lady to Puerto Rico for Thanksgiving. Dates are pretty flexible, but it would be nice to go for the whole week, maybe coming back on Saturday. Does anyone have advice for booking flight/hotel/maybe a car? Either a good paid method or the best way using miles or a combo? I have 217,000 British miles and she has about half that. Thanks for any help!

AA using saver award would be your best bet. As far as hotels go, it depends on where you want to stay/see/do.
Cars... I definitely recommend one, but if you plan on spending a few days in Old San Juan, I'd recommend against it while you're there, only because it's a pedestrian city, and your car will just sit those days gathering dust.

Are you set on Puerto Rico? Or are you looking at US territories in the Caribbean in general? If the latter, you should consider visiting St. John. IMHO, its significantly nicer and cleaner than PR.

Sure, I'd consider St. John for sure. Just trying to find the best way to book it - package deal, miles, or individual purchases.

I recently had a great experience booking a trip thru AAvacations. It was a short notice trip and I did an air+hotel package that saved me over $300. They also have miles+copay options that looked attractive.

Bioluminescent Bays
This really isn't advice on how to get there. I lived in PR for a year and a half and my most memorable experience was going to the bioluminescent bays. I went to one on the main island and one on Vieques (there's another one near Fajardo). They were absolutely amazing and not to be missed. You can find some of my other favorites on my site - Travel Savvy Family. Here's a link to the PR posts. I hope you have an amazing time! Oh, and make sure you get some mofungo!!
