"Earn Miles For Using Miles" on AA Promo

Did anyone else get the offer from AA in the mail about getting 10% of the miles you redeem back (up to 2,500 miles) between now and 11/1/11? Have they run a promo like this before? I think it's restricted to AA CitiCard holders. I just redeemed two weeks ago and would love to get the 2,500 miles put back in my account but it doesn't specify a start date and there's no registration required.

No code. It says miles will be redeposited in 6-8 weeks.

Wife got this yesterday. Just so happens that to get the bonus she'd have to keep the card for the next year and pay the annual fee...coincidence?
I got excited seeing 10%, seeing that I just dropped 180K today. Oh well.
