Mileage Tax
I finally called back MCI and the rep told me the strange surcharges/fees are actually a new "air miles tax"? Is this right? Just MCI? Any details? It is supposedly about $0.92/ thousand miles!

This has been thoroughly discussed a while ago. Use the search feature to locate an article where there was some big time MCI bashing on this issue.
Some other companies are also passing back the tax to the consumers. The tax was passed a few years ago. Please write to your congresspersons to repeal the tax.
