Multiple AMEX apps - 1 inquiry?

If I apply for multiple AMEX cards (gold, SPG, plat) at one time in different browsers, will I only end up with 1 inquiry on credit report?

yes, you will only get 1 inquiry but each additional application will be automatically rejected. amex only allows 1 app every 30 days. i tried this multiple times

also no matter how many browser windows or type of browser you use at same time, each application makes a call to the "credit report server"..so they are all marked as separate credit queries..

That's not true. Four months ago, I applied online for 3 Amex cards and got immediately approved for all of them. I applied for the 2nd and 3rd card on the same day, the day after I applied for the first card.

then i guess it depends on if you are approved for the first one since i was not so each subsequent application was instantly rejected.

FALSE!!
I applied for the JetBlue Personal & Business AMEX one right after the other (same day), and got them both pending. With a little handiwork on the phone I got them both approved. Neither were instantly denied though.

My wife and I applied for two AmEx cards each a couple of weeks ago, and only got a single pull each. I was accepted for both and she was accepted for one and declined for the other. I applied one personal and one business and she applied for two business.

You may want to hold off on your SPG app for a while. I've seen a couple of posts imply that there will be a good SPG bonus card coming later this month. See the bottom of this post.

I would suggest looking at www.creditboards.com for more exact information.

So, is the general consensus that you can pretty easily apply for AMEX cards every 30 days without the hassle of potentially calling them? I recently got the Gold Premier card, but hoping for the new SPG card that is being rumored to be around the corner.

Thanks!

I have heard various "rules" on here as to when you can apply for CC's but I don't think there are hard and fast rules with either AMEX or Chase.... I applied for and was approved for the Amex PR and less than 30 days later the Plat card. With Chase the Continental then BA card in a couple months time.

Absolutely not true. Wife just applied for 3 cards at once. Two of them were approved. One was rejected because it would take her over 4 amex cards.

Also checked, and this was only one pull on her credit history.
