Question too many pulls

Credit cards company have denied me approve recently because of too many pulls(BA, Amtrak, etc). How long does one have to wait to reapply. I applied for 2 or 3 a week. Is there a strategy on how many to applied for in a certain period.

Too many inquiries are too many inquires. If you apply again, not only will you get denied for the exact same reason, you will have added another inquiry to your credit reports.

It takes 2 years from the time of the inquiry for it to fall off your credit reports. Unless you know how to B*, it's the end of the road for your application spree for the next couple of years.

FatWallet has tons of anecdotal data of others. While it's true credit inquiries remain for two years, different creditors pay closer attention to the number of inquiries for the past X amount of time - typically two, three or sometimes six months.

Just lay low for the summer. Realize that no one ever gets in on every credit card promo. Don't worry about it, there will always be another promo down the road.

This is the wrong forum to ask about credit questions. Nine out of ten times you will get the wrong answer like the one in the second post. Very seldom will you get an intelligent answer like the third post. Try asking over at CB (creditboards).

I beg your pardon.

What part of my response did not hold any truth to it?

The OP stated that he's been applying for cards 2-3 times a week (who knows for how long) and that he's been recently turned down for various cards due to TOO MANY INQUIRIES.

He also asked how long he should wait in-between applications. If he has that many inquiries on his credit reports, he should wait until some of them fall off, either that or he can B* them off if he knows how to.

Many banks (post recession) are tightening up their standards and anything over 5 inquiries is treading in shallow waters but as always YMMV.

Don't assume I don't know what I'm talking about because of my low post count here. I recently got into the mileage game so that's why I am new here. Credit is my game and I know what I'm talking about.

There's a lot of great information and advice on this board when it comes to obtaining points and miles, but one advice I will never follow is churning cards and going on constant app sprees. (Nice way to kill your AAoA and lower your FICO score).

I am a BUMP INFLUENCE member (10,000+ posts) over at Creditboards and a VETERAN MEMBER over at MYFICO.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Closing this thread, as it is more credit than miles&points. Creditboards is a great place to research this question.
