Booking advice please

Hello,

First of all, I wasnt sure if it'd be a right thread for my question, but I wasnt sure where to go with my question.

Next spring or so, we're planning an award (or partially award) trip that'll go as follows:
PIT-FRA (my daughter and I)
FRA-PIT (just me, daughter stays in Germany for some time longer)

Some time later:
FRA-PIT (daughter and grandma)
PIT-FRA (just grandma returns).

The question would be- how does this need to be planned and done?

I will be booking it later this year or so. I currently have

UA- 80K miles
AA-80K miles
SPG- 68 + K points
Cap1 -will be close to 100k points..

Id like to use miles for maybe 2 roundtrips out of all.

Right now my primary card is Cap1 and also SPG.

Thanks

both aa & ua have 1 way awards iirc...

next spring might include both low & high award seasons...

do you have specific dates for the flights needed?....if not, look at the 2 sites so you know when the mi's required for the awards change...

if you have to buy flights, you probably would want to be the pax...

does a cap1 award book into a mi earning fare class?

good luck...

edit to add....i wouldn't book any 1 ways unless i had both out and back available...does your spring include may?

if y&d and d&g are flying prior to 15 may, your 80k aa mi can get 4 1 way saver awards putting y'all on the same flights...then you could use the ua for y & g's return...assuming may 15 is the cut off for saver in 2012...

i haven't looked at the ua award chart, nor do i have a clue re cap1...

good luck...

Thanks clacko!
I think one ways on ua and aa will be the way to go in our situation!

Thank you again.
