Question about cc spend start date
Hello all I'm a newbie and just got into the cc bonus game at the beginning of this year. I have gotten a lot of excellent advice from reading this forum and was hoping that you guys could answer a couple of my questions.
When does the credit card spend date begin (i.e. spend $4,000 in six months) - on the approval date or the day you activate the card?
I have the Citi AAdvantage AMEX and I'm trying to finish the spend on it (will probably take a month or so). I just got approved for the 100,000 mile BA Visa.
If the spend starts at activation, could I hold on to the BA card and finish my spending on the Citi AMEX. Then (a month or so later) activate the BA card and still get the 100,000 miles? If not, I know I can buy AMEX gift cards and hit the spending limits.
