I need help!

My fiance and I were going to get approved for the 75,000 mile card for each of us and use the miles to fly to Europe for our honeymoon. One problem, I got approved and she didn't. Our trip is gonna cost 50k per person. So I have an extra 25k. Is there a solution to our problem? I.E a card with 25k miles in her name and then we share miles or a quick way for me to earn an extra 25k miles. I am new to the FF programs so any help appreciated. Also I hope this is in the right thread.

1. Use miles for 1 roundtrip and 1 one-way, pay cash/charge for remaining 1-way.
2. Coins (dig around on here for info)
3. Depending on your credit limit, buy a lot of stuff to earn some more miles.
4. Get a new Netflix account.

She could try applying for a CITI Business card. She probably sells something or consults somewhere doesn't she? But, if she was turned down for low credit scores (FICO) or not enough of a credit history this probably won't work. Why was she turned down?

You can do the Fidelity deal by signing up for an account with them and deposit $50K for 25K miles... You should have the miles within a few weeks.

Assume this is AA? and you just have 1 of the 3 possible Citi AA cards?

How long until the flight date? Price may not stay at 50k pp? Need to quickly amp miles. GCs, coins, netflix, Citi aa debit card? needed stat. But not a good idea to amp cash equivalents right out of the box.

Are you going to Europe in the peak season and returning in the off-peak season? Or are you you going off-peak and returning peak? If the roundtrip is costing 50,000 miles, it must be one or the other, since an off-peak one-way is 20,000 miles, and a peak one-way is 30,000 miles. If you are departing during peak season, there may be an inexpensive way of getting the lower, off-peak rate, depending on how close you are to a North American gateway city. Gives us some more details (where you are starting from, when you will be traveling), and maybe we can find a workaround.

Two thoughts:

1. You didn't say what airline you're talking about, though the amount of the credit card bonus narrows the field a lot. Whatever airline it is, FT has a forum for it. (Any airline big enough to talk a bank into issuing an affinity credit card for it has its own forum. Some of the smaller ones are grouped by region.) Chances are there's a thread in that forum with ideas for getting miles quickly.

2. You might think a bit more about your thread title. About a quarter of the threads on FT could be titled "I need help." (Two more quarters are "I have a question" and "look what happened to me!" The remaining quarter is everything else put together.) You can't change a thread title yourself, but clicking the Alert a Moderator icon (black exclamation point in a red triangle) under your name in the first post lets you ask a moderator to change it.

And welcome to FT!

if its a Amex Membership Rewards airline then you could sign up for a Plat Card for 50,000 points and transfer to miles (will cost $450 but you also get $200 in flight benefits ... detailed in amex board)

We are leaving from Seattle and we were thinking leaving around the 12th of Sept. and returning Oct. 17th. The airline is AA and I got the Citi bank Visa.

I thought that Citi rejects all Citi Business card applications from anyone who has applied for any other Citi card within the last 90 days. I got all three 100k Citi AA bonus cards and applied for my Citi biz card exactly 90 days after I applied for my Citi personal cards, if I have my math right.

There's plenty of people here (myself included ) who would be glad to refer you to SPG. You get the usual bonus, but as the referer, we get a bonus, too. You could PM if interested.

You may not be able to get your outbound seats at Saaver level at all.

I suggest you check AA's award seats availability first before you get all worked up in this mileage game.

If you can postpone your trip to after Oct 15 then you have much better luck in finding seats.
