Same person, Same flight, two flight tickets credit to two FFP?

Same person (same name or at least using "similar" name), Same flight, two flight tickets credit to two different frequent flyer program (i.e. UA + BMI). Can I do that?

Can I purchase two tickets and get both credits in different frequent flyer program? I understand the exactly the same name on two tickets may cause the problem, but what if I spell it differently for middle initial? Also, can the two tickets located in different cabin (i.e. one F(or C) one Y)?

Thanks for answer.

How do you propose to board the plane with two boarding passes?

Don't fat people flying Southwest have to do this? I don't know how it works though - one boarding pass or two.

You may face challenges both trying to scan both BP's and/or when the FA's do the count before departure - you may hold up a plane load of other passengers.

The second BP (at least on United) is usually booked as LastName/EXTRASEAT. United allows you to get RDM for the second seat, but I don't know about others or of anyone who allows you to split credit or get EQM.

In the (very) old days you could do this by submitting manual requests for credit under two similar-named accounts.

Since 9/11, fugetaboutit. Not worth the black suv's surrounding the house.
