Can you explain your question? Which promo? The 40% Amex MR transfer promo or the 50,000 Point CC sign up? Or something else.

A little more clarity will help!

First - you have a great site which I only just found a month ago.
Well, I was reading a post about how many miles do you have and some mention the BA AMEX promo and wasn't sure what it meant.

Probably someone referencing the current 40% Amex Membership Rewards British Airways transfer bonus, which I wrote about here. Offer expires 3/31/11.

If you don't have an Amex MR card, you can get a Platinum card with a 50,000 point sign up bonus ($450 annual) fee. Once you spend $1,000, you get 50,000 sign up points. They probably won't post before 3/31/11, but you can ask Amex to expedite (which they may do if your account is current).

Another option is advancing yourself up to 60,000 points, which Amex will allow as long as you've been an Amex customer for at least 6 months. Advancing points is free- you just have to earn them back within a year (which your signup bonus would eventually almost cover).

For the mathematically challenged, 60,000 Amex to BA with the 40% promo is 84,000 BA. 80,000 BA will get you a LAN business class award from North America to South America with a bunch of stopovers included. A pretty good value for a $450 annual fee card!

PS Thanks for reading my site

If you go to "Search this Forum" & click "Advanced Search" and then type in the Keyword "BA" (titles only), 1 Reply, 3 months ago, you'll find a number of threads addressing various BA offers.

Since there are a lot of threads on this subject I'll close this thread.
