Lifetime Elite Qualifying Without Flights?

Many airlines have lifetime elite programs, based upon 1+ million miles. Does any airline (domestic or foreign) apart from American Airlines count miles other than status miles for lifetime elite qualification? And which airlines that give status miles for activities other than flights (for instance, MQMs on Delta for credit card usage) count those status miles toward lifetime elite qualification?

As far as I know, only American counts NON-flying miles towards lifetime elite status.

Which is precisely why I choose to fly with AA and use Citi AA credit cards.

Yup - for those of us who like the perks but don't travel enough to earn them on a regular basis, AA is the answer!

I know another one: Flying Blue has a cobranded AF Amex Gold and/or Platinum card in France which gives you EQM. If you have spend 70K (fon non-French residents) each year you earn Lifetime Platinum Elite with KLM/Air France.

Just remember that AA only gives Lifetime Platinum, not EXP. But that comes at 2MM miles from anything at all. My second million on AA camer entirely from buying jet fuel at AA-owned FBO's that they used to own. From then on to my present almost 8MM came by flying, but there is no increased status after the 2MM Platinum.

Oh, well, eventually Mrs. JB will be there with AF, not that there is huge value in that status with FB.
