That is what I wanna know, (long story) but the wife and I nailed the BA card 100K mile promo and we got 100K each in the bank. But where to use the miles, especially next summer? (Without massive tax/surcharges, etc.)

Yes, I have read the threads regarding using BA miles on AA, are there other options? (mebbe this is the wrong thread for this )

Thanks for posting this, but where does this come from? I don't see it in the T&Cs.

Yes, BA does charge hefty fees, including a misleadingly named "fuel surcharge" (or something to that effect) that can add up to a few hundred dollars per ticket. But I'm not sure about the details. I believe this is discussed in the thread on the 100,000 points offer here in Miles Buzz and/or in threads in the AA (in the context of the joint operating agreement) and BA forums.

A couple of nice features of the BA card are 2.5 miles per dollar for BA purchases and 1.25 miles for other purchases. Also, unlike most other credit cards this one does not charge foreign transaction fees.

When I have checked, flying AA domestic has the same fees as AA. I believe someone else said they tickted to Canada as well and it was about the same. Otherwise, I believe flying international has the huge fees.

just international via AA or all international?

All international trips on AA metal (including transpacific or ORD-DEL) have the higher surchange? How about international trips on LAN or Cathay? Sorry I am on the road and would have checked myself. Don't have my BA login handy. If these charges apply on non-BA metal, that's a big downer.
