Question Someone's miles are gone !

My problem is my "senior" father got an email saying his points were about to expire soon. And he decided to delete the email completely! And of course needs me to "look into this" now.So I called Hyatt and it wasn't them.Dad cannot remember who is taking his points away.So any ideas who sends emails stating this? He's got all the cards,Thanks so much.

Can you check his delete files or electronic trashcan? If he just deleted the email it may still be there.

Im pretty sure I some time ago received a mail from Hilton on this. Think I ended up buying the minimum points to keep it active.

Check expiration policies, so you can for instance check out priority club, as they dont expire.

My 2k accor sign up bonus points expired after 1 year.

Sign up for AwardWallet and add his accounts under his name on your account so that you can monitor the expiration dates for him.

When did he delete the e-mail? You should check the deleted e-mail folder and see if the e-mail is still there.

I know that USAir sends out warning emails well in advance of expiration (got one recently, I think it was 3 months in advance).

Also, have him check his Trash or Deleted Items folder. Emails usually don't get erased for good until you "empty trash" or "expunge"

i'm sure you must have....there are a few people who have reported getting emails from hilton to save their accounts....but the majority of people who have lost their points or have had their accounts deleted have had no warning from hilton....

This is actually a clarion call for all of us aging FTers who have a dozen cards and more for programs. What's a good way to track all the programs and credit cards and is also easy for us to remmeber or our future caretakers to take charge?

I got an e-mail from Hilton in September, just about six weeks ago, about my points getting ready to expire on Nov. 1 if I didn't do something. (Being an FTer, I did something.)
