Quantum, The Park Hyatt is very nice. Or if you are going to Georgetown, try the 4 Seasons.

Ritz Carlton at Pentagon City in Arlington is very nice, attached to a shopping mall, two metro stops from DC and about 3 minutes from DCA (which is quickly and cheaply reached using the Washington Flyer bus service from IAD)...And not terribly expensive for a DC area hotel (esp. with the RC name...)

If you MUST get points, however, the Hilton National Airport in Crystal City is an OK property and is also very near a metro stop only 1 or 2 stops from DC...

Birthday trip for hubby to one of his favorite destinations--Las Vegas!

Anyone in the vicinity is invited to join us for a beverage. Luckily we travel with credit cards so we can definitely buy on the return if someone wants an alcoholic beverage. As my husband is fond of saying about gambling trips, "Sometimes the only machine paying off is the ATM."
