Matt: look's like having enough time for London Pub-crawls in between ...

The afternoon/evening of May 14 IS INDEED set aside for wild abandon in London (and FINALLY finding a pub that serves old speckled hen). I know absolutely nothing about Hamburg, but after my afternoon meeting, I'm quite certain that I can find some kind of trouble that does not involve anti-biotics down the road...

As for the comparison sheet, well, can one truly qualify and compare ecstasy???

MATT: Make sure Kensington Hilton takes ALL your HHONOR and airline #'s and check the bill before you go. As I said I had problems with them getting the simpliest things like putting my HHONORS #'s in the computer.

And there's a Safeway two blocks down from the HILTON if you need aspirin or Seltzer or whatever after your pub crawl!

This will be my first trip to KUL. My wife and I will be splitting our stay between the Sheraton Imperial (this will get me my 10,000 Starpoints/5 stays bonus) and the New World Renaissance. Any helpful advice or comments from you well-travelled lot about KUL and/or our hotel choices would be much appreciated.

Since I can't find anyone to give me an expense account, I'll be stuck flying in steerage wherever my NW Gold Elite status won't get me an upgrade. At least I've been able to get my favourite exit row seats pre-assigned so my wife and I won't be walking around bow-legged for hours!

Flyme2 - take it from someone who has lived in KUL. Try to stay at the same hotel as your wife. Either Sheraton Imperial or New World. The 2 hotels may be close but it still will take about a good 20 minutes walking - in HOT HOT weather.

KUL has bad roads, and bad traffic. Stay where you think you'd want to be at. If your business dealings are in say, Petaling Jaya, then stay there instead of downtown Kuala Lumpur.

The Sheraton Imperial is a nice hotel - try the Italian restaurant - cheap and good. Because of the depreciation of the Ringgit compared to the dollar, most things are cheap compared to say, Singapore.

The new KLIA (KL International Airport) is really nice. Big and clean, it has been said that it is nicer than Hong Kong's airport.

BTW, I was unclear in my earlier post, my wife and I are staying at the same hotel, we're just dividing our stay between the two. ...although your interpretation has its merits. Only kidding, Brigitte!
We are also debating whether to change the New World stay in favour of the Shangri-La. Any opinion?
