"Double Your Miles With This Certificate"

At least, that's what the certificate says. (I don't think this has been posted yet - if it has, I apologise.)

The certificate (form) is an offer from Healthy Choice. It is good only in the US (and US government overseas addresses) - sorry Rudi; you really must get a US address.

The idea is that you purchase Healthy Choice (brand name) products, and send the cash register tape and "proofs of purchase" (usually UPC symbols) to the address on the form, and for each 10 proofs of purchase they send you Frequent Flyer Certificates good for a total of 1000 miles in participating airline frequent flyer programs. The participating airlines are: American; Delta; Northwest; TWA; United; and US Airways.

If, as we generally figure, a mile is worth about 2 cents, this means for ten purchases, they are providing 1000 miles worth $20, or $2 per purchase. Lots of Healthy Choice items -- ice cream, cold cuts, soups, popcorn, etc. -- also have manufacturers coupons out which can bring the purchase cost below $2, so you're really getting a bargain. Offer ends 31 May 1999.

I'd recommend it to any frequent flyer who eats. (Those who have successfully broken that habit, please let me know your secret.)

Fine print: "Buy any ten (10) Healthy Choice products. Send this completed certificate and ten (10) Healthy Choice UPC symbols plus dated cash receipt(s) with the purchase price for each Healthy Choice product circled, for two (2) 500 mile Frequent Flyer Certificates.

"Offer expires 5/31/99. Maximum number of 500 mile certificates to be deposited within a 12 month period: Delta Air Lines 100, United Airlines 40, and U.S. Airways 100. American Airlines, Northwest Airlines and TWA do not have certificate limits. Consumers must mail each Frequent Flyer Certificate to the designated airline within 12 months to be credited to their account." (More boilerplate follows.)

You only need one form, since the form itself allows you to submit as many UPCs as you want to (must be in multiples of 10) so you can save up and send them all in in late May. Although some are frozen, many Healthy Choice products (soups, microwave popcorn) keep in pantries, so if one were so inclined he or she could take the opportunity to really stock up on both food and miles.

MIKE MAHONEY Mar 26, 1999 10:56 pm

Thanks Counsellor for the tip. This is a great incentive to continue eating healthy and to continue collecting frequent flyer miles in the most easiest and cost effective manner. I better get off to Sloans(NYC grocery store)ASAP...
Till next time...

Where do you get the form?

This is great! I can get my sisters and their families to send me the UPC codes and receipts. And since AA has no limits, maybe I can get a volume discount deal and order a tractor trailer full of Healthy Choice frozen dinners.

onefreeman Mar 27, 1999 6:49 am

Echo: where do you get the form?

It's not on their website http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Catman Mar 27, 1999 7:14 am

Check your SUNDAY coupon sections in your newspapers (the ones with the colorful ads and cents off coupons.) THe Healthy CHoice form could be there.

Another possibility: Check on a package for the customer service/comment number which is generally open weekdays and ask them about the offer.

And of course check your supermarket's courtesy counter because a lot of the stores keep the order forms there so people take one and not 50.

Another savings tip: if You have a supermarket that has double or triple coupons you can pay even less for those miles! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

How do it know all this? Well at some supermarkets in Jerzee I'm known as the "COUPON KING" (taking an average 10-15 coupons to the store per week!) The cashiers hide when they see me and my Harrod's cat bags approaching checkout!

Enjoy the miles folks! I don't use Healthy Choice (Maybe I should!)

Counsellor Mar 27, 1999 5:36 pm

I have a few extra copies and will check with "my source" to see about getting more. If you can't find them in the next week or so, e-mail me your U.S. address and I'll send you one ("while supplies last").

dhacker Mar 27, 1999 7:50 pm

At first, I wondered why it says "double your miles". Then I remembered that bestfares.com recently posted in their members only area that this Healthy Choice promotion was for 500 miles per 10 items purchased, and runs from 4/1/99 to the end of the year. So I suppose the "double" for using Counsellor's certificates means doubling the 500 miles offered to the general public to 1000 miles and is limited to April 1st through May 31st ???

Counsellor Mar 28, 1999 12:43 am

So that's what they meant by "double" your miles. You know, when I first saw the certificate, I had dreams of my Mileage Plus and TWA accounts suddenly going to the very high six figures. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Anyway, I contacted "my source" and have been assured that I can get my hands on about 15 of the certificates, maybe more if need be. Apparently the pads containing them will be (are being) posted near the Healthy Choice displays in the frozen food sections of supermarkets. I have no idea whether this is regional, or select chains only, or what.

What I would suggest is that anyone who is interested check out his/her supermarket early next week, and also take Catman's advice and check the Sunday supplements in the papers today. If you come up empty, send me an e-mail with your U.S. address and I'll send you a form as long as they last.

Catman Mar 28, 1999 8:43 am

I checked the coupon sections of three different newspapers (NYTimes, Daily News and Bergen Record) and did NOT find this certificate for Healthy CHoice.

Thanks COnsellor for offering the certificates.

It would be strange if this was regional since Healthy CHoice is sold nationwide.

If I come across any certificates I'll be more than happy to pass them on if Counsellor runs out.

MileKing Mar 28, 1999 9:13 am

Was in Safeway yesterday afternoon. NO Healthy Choice certificates anywhere.

mrjohnnyt Mar 30, 1999 2:56 pm

Hopefully since the promotion offically starts on April 1
we'll see the advertising towards the end of this week.
Looks like I'll be eating a lot of healthy choice meatloaf. Yummmm.

Steve B Apr 4, 1999 7:14 pm

healthychoice.com has now posted a copy of the certificate on their website.....but its the offer for 500 miles for ten proofs of purchase.....FYI

MIKE MAHONEY Apr 4, 1999 7:53 pm

Thanks Steve B for the update about the webpage for Healthy Choice ! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Welcome Aboard!

Here is a link to their web site. Hope it helps

Hope that fixed it. Thanks Counsellor

The offer on the website is from 4/1/99 to 12/31/99 for 500 miles per 10 UPCs.

FYI, you do not have to stockpile UPCs for one mailing as they will accept multiple mailings as you collect them.

wanderlust Apr 5, 1999 1:49 pm

Okay, so how do I "double" the 500 miles/10upc to 1000 miles?

------------------
g'day

Counsellor Apr 6, 1999 2:56 am

Needs a certificate and a US mailing address (see first posting in this thread).

steve100 Apr 6, 1999 1:35 pm

Thanks for the URL for the 10barcodes/500 miles... But, does anybody have a URL link (and/or a place that you can obtain the certificate) for 10barcodes/1,000 miles under the "Double" promotion?

burkey Apr 6, 1999 3:00 pm

So, what's the cheapest HC product you all found that can be used in this promo?

The best I found at my local store, is the HC pudding, 4 packages (4 individual serving cups each) for $5, which is $1.25 per unit (or UPC).

Abiding Apr 6, 1999 7:54 pm

Best deal I found so far is Ralph's put 59cent sale tickets on their hot dogs. With my 30cents off coupon doubled, they were free. I don't eat hot dogs, but my dog barked "Hot Dog!" and I will enjoy the miles!

countryboy Apr 6, 1999 8:26 pm

The certificate for 500 miles is on the web
as mentioned above. I stopped by the local Kroger over the weekend and there were no
certificates in the store, but I did pick up a tip that Healthy Choice would be on sale at
50% off in about 2-3 weeks. For their "meals", the price would go from $3.70 to about $1.85. Not bad, better than McDonalds
late at night.

Steve B Apr 7, 1999 8:22 am

Hmmmmm.....cans of their soup go for 1.29 at Market Basket....so @50% off....and with coupons for 50 cents off three cans...it might be time to put together a Y2K stockpile.

wanderlust Apr 8, 1999 10:57 pm

As far as I can tell, the steps are:
1. Save 10 Healthy Choice UPC's
2. Download the 500 mile certificate from their site.
3. ?
4. Send it all in and wait a millenium for your miles to post...

To get 1000 miles, is there ANOTHER certificate that you use IN LEU of the one you can download, or do you send it ALONG WITH the 500 mile certificate? If there is, where is it?

In Couselor's original message, he eluded to it, but never said where this magical DOUBLE certificate was. I really want to take advantage of this deal, but I'm afraid the fine print might state..."Those who just don't get it don't get ANY miles."

Someone throw me a bone here? Help out a 49er. Fell down the shaft...

g'day

onefreeman Apr 9, 1999 6:58 am

Attempted rescue of Wanderlust.

The double your miles is a separate certificate that isn't on the website. Counsellor found some. He may have some left?

The neat part of this is you can save them up and just send them in all at once -- but remember to save the cash register receipts!

Good luck -- hope this helped!!

Steve B Apr 9, 1999 7:57 am

There is a mention of the offer at the ConAgra website. It says that on April 25 the promotion will kick off with inserts in newspapers across the country. Hopefully, they will include the "double" coupon, which is only good through the end of May, as a way to get it off to a fast start.

sggolf Apr 19, 1999 3:46 pm

Here are a few tips that I have picked up from Healthy Choice consumer affairs for the Double Mile offer only....

o Do not send in your Double Mile offer before 4/25. The reason was not given.

o My question: The start date for collecting receipts for the Double Mile promotion was not given.

Their response: "Dated receipts can be any date, even a year ago, but they do have to be dated by the store. They can even be copies."

This does not hold true for the standard 500 mile offer that does state a start date of 4/1/99.

o Double mile certificates were sent to participating stores, no list was given.

o After the 5/31 deadline for the double mile offer, you may continue to submit UPCs for the standard 500 mile offer that runs through the end of the year.

Hope this helps! Thanks again Counsellor!

Comicwoman Apr 19, 1999 4:33 pm

I saw the certificates in the grocery store yesterday. While their products are in the deli case and at least two or three places in the freezer, I only saw the coupons in one place. Sure to differ by store.

I decided not to chase these miles. I am never home for dinner anyway.

ReneeMoss Apr 20, 1999 10:50 pm

Thanks to Counsellor for sending me the coupon for doubling --I am still looking, but have had no luck at finding the coupon to double, at either Publix or Winn Dixie or Albertson's. The managers didn't know anything about the coupon. I haven't gotten an asnwer to my e-mail to the webmaster at the Healthy Choice Site. Winn Dixie does have a coupon for buy 3 get 1 free for the frozen "Bowl" and "Lunch" items - this is a good deal, they are usually $2 ea. I am stockpiling the soups.

TribeFlyer Apr 21, 1999 11:00 am

Yes, thanks, Counsellor, for the double coupon! Like ReneeMoss, I haven't had any luck finding coupons at my local Giant, nor anyone at the Customer Service counter who has heard about the promotion.

Tip for those who are buying the canned soups--several flavors have "50 cents off 3" coupons underneath the labels, so you can save even more on future purchases!

QuantumLeap Apr 21, 1999 12:21 pm

Let me also thank Counsellor for a doubling coupon. I haven't found them here in Denver yet. Keep an eye out in the frozen meals too. Some of them have coupons inside.

Catman Apr 21, 1999 1:22 pm

MY Coupon Clippers CLub is still on the lookout for these certificates. I asked this frozen food stocker with the big gut about the Healthy CHoice certificates and this "worldly" man said "I Don't even have no idea what Frequent Flyer miles are?"

If I get extras I will post here and if anyone needs them I will get them out to you.

Because I'm not taking advantage of THIS offer. OMNI: To me the few Healthy Choice products I tried (soup, popcorn, Pizza) were tasteless. SORRY!

wonderer Apr 21, 1999 1:49 pm

Big time thanks Counsellor for all your time and trouble getting that certificate out to me. I haven't seen any in my part of Michigan yet.

Has anyone eaten anthing from Healthy Choice that they really like? What are recommendations?

MIAman3 Apr 21, 1999 5:27 pm

The chocolate chocalte chip ice -cream was delicious and only 2g of fat!!

My local supermarket also had it on special. 64oz. for $3.39.

The lasagna is also quite edible and fills a gap. The Ham is also tasty but not much else
for even the most un-discerning of pallettes.

Counsellor Apr 21, 1999 6:48 pm

As I understand it (and as mentioned earlier in the thread), apparently the "grand unveiling" of the promotion is scheduled for this coming weekend. Check out the Sunday Supplements, and the supermarkets on Monday and Tuesday, and some of the certificates should be there.

If not, e-mail me after Tuesday. I still have a (very) few left and will try to help you out as long as the supply lasts.

ReneeMoss Apr 22, 1999 10:31 am

With much investigation, I finally got to a phone number (#1-800-323-9980) at Healthy Choice Customer Service that seemed to have some answers to the DOUBLE Coupon question. This is a special REGIONAL promotion, good to May 31, 1999 - I could not get to first base in obtaining the information about which regions? - however, I did ask if the ORIGINAL coupon (that Counsellor sent me) could be copied - and so used. I was promised an answer in writing A.S.A.P. Meanwhile, there is nothing on the ORIGINAL coupon prohibiting a COPY being used. Nothing yet in my area(Southeast Florida) about this promotion. I will post as soon as I get the "Skinny" about a copy being OK to use. Meanwhile, perhaps someone can find out which REGIONS have this DOUBLE coupon.

Counsellor Apr 23, 1999 1:38 am

They may be planning to distribute it only in certain areas, but the certificate itself does not limit itself only to certain regions (unless the US is a "region"). It says, "Good only in USA and APO, FPO Addresses." (However it does also say at another place on the form, "Additional restrictions may apply.")

Well, if the "grand announcement" does indeed come this weekend, we'll soon know, I guess.

LI DEBBIE Apr 24, 1999 7:49 am

I got the Sunday coupon section of my paper today and it only had the mail-in certificate for the 500 FF miles offer. The certificate reads that you need a dated register receipt. Anybody know if receipts prior to April 1st are OK to use? My husband likes these meals and I've been buying them for a while.

MileMuncher Apr 25, 1999 7:28 am

I got the coupon in todays newspaper. It was only good for 500 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif. I'm in the Middle Tennessee area. When someone finds the "Lucky" coupons please indicate your region.

Munch out!

JeffLewis2 Apr 25, 1999 11:20 am

Only the 500 miles offer in Sunday's Orange County Register (CA). Boo.

Catman Apr 25, 1999 1:38 pm
