Applied for new BA Visa last November. Came with 50,000 British Airways miles and another 50,000 after I spent $2,000. Plus when you spend $30,000 in one calendar year, they send you a voucher (no more than once a year) for two redemptions for the price of one.
We are ticketed for Newark to Tel Aviv next May in BA First Class!
BTW, for those who need miles, US Air is having a promotion right now. Buy up to 50,000 miles and they will double it. If you have no miles, 50,000 becomes 100,000 and costs $1375 - and is good for Business Class on one of US Air's partners - like Swiss of Lufthansa.

Dunna about that BTDT in all types of cabins over several lines. Sometimes the most stable rooms in bad weather are in the bleacher seats (inside lower). Rather be there than high outside in rough weather.

Outbound: first we fly from S California to Chicago, then ORD to Amman on Royal Jordanian in Crown Class (it's a 2 class plane)
Return: got the El Al NON-STOP from Tel Aviv to LAX in Business class. Brutal - 15 1/2 hours - but it still beats having to stop.

I, too, would like to say thanks to the OP for the thread.
Right now, I'm working on fullfilling my "life's passion"; and travel is just ancillary to that. I hope to have that all finished up in another 5 years or so.
But I have come to realize that what I am learning here may well help me enjoy my years more over the coming decades, however long that may be.
Best wishes to all who learn and share on Flyertalk.:-:
