2 free flights with the FIRST SWIPE -- Chase/Southwest Airlines Visa

Got a Chase/Southwest Airlines Signature Visa offer in the mail with the following terms:

-- 2 Free flights after your FIRST SWIPE
-- 8 more credits if you transfer balances
-- 2 credits free per year when you renew

Annual fee -- $59 -- waived for the frist year

There is a invitation number and offer code at the bottom so I assume it is targeted. I had a card last year that gave me a free flight with the first swipe -- cancelled after I paid off the first charge.

Maybe the credit card reform that the govt pushed thru will be good for FT'ers especially with the offers that I am seeing out there right now.

I can't say that it's official, but Chase has blocked my last 3 attempts at cards for reasons like "Insufficient credit history" and "Too much revolving credit." I've had my main card for 13 years now (since I was 16) and I have NO revolving credit... just things on my bill that I pay off every month. My wife had her last 2 blocked from Chase for similar reasons. We both have credit scores over > 780 and AmEx and Discover have no problem issuing us both large lines of credit recently.

My only guess is that we have churned through a lot of Chase cards in the past year (UA, CO, BA, Chase Freedom) and use them for Mint purchases. At least we can still do debit cards from them that have mileage bonuses

Remember that Chase always asked if it has been 6 months since your last denial. There have also been many reports that you need at least 4 or 5 months between applications. Also, Chase has, reportedly, canceled cards that were used mainly for mint purchases.
