award trip to germany may 2011

i have 100.000 usair miles enough for a business class award ticket, any advise on how soon to book ,what airline is the most comfortable and most likly to be able get an award seat.

book as soon as you see availability.....generally, flights are put in the sked about 331 days out....go early in may before school ends....

search this and the us air forums....i suspect there are many threads on this....good luck...

If United can't get you there on its metal, remember that Luthansa is a Star Alliance partner. So is Swiss Air, if you would like to take a train to Zurich. We are using both for non-stops from San Francisco to Munich, and Zurich to San Francisco this summer. Open Jaw is permitted and quite useful, as are multiple partners for the same trip.

Air Canada would be the most comfortable coach option via YYZ/YYC, as well as probably the best business class option next to LH or SQ (via JFK)

Do yourself a favour and do not redeem on US/UA/CO in coach.

There is tons of options/availability, so just book what suits you best, book as soon as you can if your dates are set
