What points etc can actually be transferred?
Some points/miles/vouchers etc must be used by the person itself (or family), other can be used for 3rd party redemptions, and other can even be transferred.
Is there any sticky or threads on this? Lets say I need to get rid of some SWUs before expiry, and I dont really need a fixed miles price ticket by now, how can we solve this?
Im specifically interested in the programs you see on my nick (US, AA, BMI, SPG,Hyatt,PC).

Most programs allow a transfer option but put a fee that makes it not worth it, though there are periodic bonuses that can make it more tempting.
SPG does allow a free transfer, but only for people with the same address. You can figure out how to work your way around that.

For transfer options, you can check out the useful tool: Webflyer Mileage Converter and see if your chosen programs are listed. Even listed, there are not that many programs giving you 1:1 ratio in transfers. The value of your miles/points usually diminish in the process of transferring. We are lucky enough to have CC on FT.
SPG is a good exception as long as you don't transfer into UA miles.
For popular items, savvy FTers would have already known the terms. However, there are so many different vouchers/coupons/points/miles/programs, I doubt it's even possible to have a complete list/thread.
Your safest bet is to check out the terms listed or associated with yours and go from there.

It is worth making the distinction between actually transferring points or miles vs using the points or miles for another person. The latter is almost always possible with no penalty.

Problem is if you are giving away something that is expiring, and you dont need to use what you are getting in return before later. Then its a question of trust only (you will of course also have that on immediate transactions, but at least its easier to maybe cancel something or react in an appropriate way).
