Can this 50k miles be used towards a flight on QR?

United miles can only be used on United partners and StarAlliance members.

Qatar Airways is not *Alliance, but it appears to be bookable with United miles according to their website:

888-338-2586 is an automated application check system. If you want to speak to a rep about approvals/denials/reallocation of credit/etc, call 888-245-0625.

I can confirm that this still works. I just applied for the "50K bonus miles" card about 2 hours ago.

Woo hoo! Thanks folks!

Called UA customer service, gave correct UA number + incorrect zip. Got forwarded to Chase upon request for Visa. Listening to fine print as I type.

Called yesterday afternoon but was not approved on the spot as some were. Just called the automated line and was approved. 50,000 miles here I come. Now have to get the wife to sign up.

This is to confirm that the way to reach someone on the phone for this offer is to call MP cust. svc (800-325-0046), enter your MP #, wrong zip code twice. You will be transferred to an agent. Ask for the offer and you will get transferred to a Chase agent.

After waiting for the Chase agent to finish his LONG recitation of the disclosure terms, I was told I was approved.

PS: I'm slightly concerned that I was transferred to the Chase agent through a UA agent. I don't know if she stayed on the line or not. It makes me nervous since I provided all my identifying information to the Chase agent, that should could have easily taken down.

I applied for the BA visa in February, and I'm waiting for my second statement to close (on 4/15), after which I should get my second 50K.

Should I wait until this statement closes to apply for the UA visa? Or does it really have no bearing?

I just don't want to take any chances with my BA miles, but I also know this deal could dissapear any day.

Oh, and is there a minimum spend requirement for this one?
