Best Frequent Flyer Program USA Today Survey

Each week, USATODAY.com and TripAdvisor.com post a new survey question on a timely travel topic.

This week: Airlines are making it easier for frequent fliers to redeem their miles. Which airline do you think offers the best program?

Use this link to vote in the survey:

this is somewhat objective, how many people out there have really used all of them?

...this is probably the wrong forum to make such a claim, though.

The question asks only about US airlines, but doesn't give AS as a choice. As of now, WN is winning.

Yes, as a former NW PE, I agree. In fact, I thought about posting this in the Delta forum but decided this forum is more appropriate since the survey covers (almost) all FF programs.

If this was a poll question on WSJ.com rather than USAtoday.com, I imagine you'd have completely different results.

I find the "Airlines are making it easier for frequent fliers to redeem their miles" to be an extremely interesting premise.

And 12,500 points for SFO to LAX??? Currently $60-80. Egads.

Given the typical readership, the results aren't too surprising.

Not exactly a scientific survey, though.

Vote early and vote often

This poll is obviously geared toward the casual traveler and not for people who frequent this forum or are FF fanatics.

Yes, and FF fanatics & FT members are in the minority.

Why so many people vote Delta?
I think people just vote whatever program they belong.....

That's most likely it, and they vote for Southwest because they inherently think it's a great airline without the frequent flier program. I cast my vote with UA, because IMO, DL charges too many miles, US lacks the network, CO is roughly equal, and AA's decent but no E+ sucks.

BTW, what sort of people travel like this? Some questions from other surveys are...
What's your favorite free hotel amenity? An excellent club lounge is mine.
What's your favorite way to spend time at the airport? Guzzling Bacardi rum in the SkyClub is mine.
How do you deal with checked baggage fees? What, I didn't know such a thing exists.

USA Today is a newspaper I found enlightening as a 10 year old. By the time I was 15 I read the Chicago Tribune and started reading the WSJ at 18.

Not really a problem when you're upgraded 100% of the time. ^

As a friend once explained to me, USA Today is a perfect paper for the person whose attention span is too short for TV news.
