How to maximize points & miles accumulated this year?
First time poster; I am fascinated by all the schemes that people have figured out to accumulate miles and points in this thread.
I spend around $80k/year on my credit cards (business mostly) and I would like to maximize my 'take' of miles and points, especially bonus offers. So far this year I have done:
BA 100k Chase Visa
SPG Amex (10k bonus points)
Bought $5000 worth of $1 coins using my BofA cash-back card. (that only nets me $50 but I was curious what $5k in coins looked like. I guess I'll see next week. Not sure what to do with them once they arrive... ).
Since I figure I can meet pretty-much any spending requirement, I am wondering what else I can do to rake in more miles? Any suggestions?

What about an airline credit card?
You might want to be careful about the dollar coin buys as it could get you blacklisted by the CC companies. They're starting to catch on to "free" ways of accumulating points.

Your SPG AMEX should give you nother 15K miles if you spend $15,000 within six months of getting it. Since you are interested in miles as opposed to focusing on status, that changes your credit card focus away from the heavy status generating ones, like Hilton AMEX, and toward the bonus for sign up cards and those that give a good return on dollars spent. Your BA Chase is your best choice for the former, and the SPG AMEX is the best choice for the latter, so good job and a fine start. Consdering your goals, check into churning a Citibank AA card, though thatis getting a bit tighter, as I understand it. Lots of threads on churning, and that Citibank AA card seems to be the most easily churned.

Hi JW76,
Here is a consolidated thread on the subject of credit cards that I found very helpful. Perhaps you will find it useful too?
