Adding frequent flyer number after initial reservation
Hi,
I reserved tickets with Delta for myself and a friend.
Afterwards, I tried to add his Delta Frequent Flyer number to the reservation so that he can get credit for the trip miles.
Because I used something slightly different from his full ("3-name") name when I made the reservation, Delta will not do so because of the "mismatch."
This is really silly.
Does anyone know of a means of correcting this situation ?
Thanks!

I think things recently changed to require the full name (on DL) to match the ticketed name so you may want to think about that as well...
In my experience this is fixed by faxing/mailing a copy of the Drivers License to the service center and asking them to credit the flight to the acct. I went through this on CO when a flight was booked for me under my middle name and in the end it worked out, it was just a little more work.

Welcome to Flyertalk. Board courtesy is to post your question in a single place. As it also was posed on the Delta forum (an appropriate place), I'll close the thread here.
