Does anyone have any experience with Points.com?

Does anyone have any experience transferring miles between programs with Points.com? They seem to take away most of the miles as a fee when you transfer. The only use I can see for this program is to transfer a small number of miles in order to log a transaction that would prevent miles from expiring.

There are some existing discussion threads about Points.com in MilesBuzz Forum alone. I recall seeing Points.com mentioned in SPAM Forum as well.

You may search and research on your own or start by reading this recent thread:

IMHO, this may be the only & best use of Points for any savvy FTer.

A small transfer from one program to another via points.com has also counted as an easy "partner transaction" in some of the recent partner promotions, i.e. Priority Club.

I used their website back when they did the merging of my AW/US accounts, and I viewed few other account balances there regularly. I didn't use them for balance transfers because most conversions were lousy.
But, then I noticed that Award Wallet stored many more of my accounts, so I switched to them to view my balances.

A few years ago I transfered my orphan YX miles over to AA using them. It was a good experience especially as 250 AA miles are worth more than 2,200 YX miles to me.

mysterious deposit of miles

Strange event: I signed up with points.com in Oct. 2006, through an AS offer of 10 pts., and haven't visited the site since. Well, today I got two deposits of miles into my AS acct. One for 2500 and one for 1000. 3500 miles for nothing. What's up? Anyone else ever see miles mysteriously appear?

Those amounts are consistent with Club Bing redemption levels. Were you waiting for some miles to post from Club Bing?

I was thinking Clubbing, although I don't know if AS is a partner with them.

Ah. @:-) A kind FTer said he was going to give me some miles via Club Bing a couple months ago. This must be the pay-off. Thanks.

Also, got 200 more AS miles today when I updated my acct. Sweeeeet.
