I have recently relocated to the US from Hong Kong. I have 155,000 MarcoPolo miles (cathay pacific) that I need to use before Dec 31. I am considering the following options and would love some input on which is the best:
1. using Points.com to convert 155k CX miles to 27,000 AA Miles
2. using Points.com to convert 155k CX miles to 24,500 Delta miles
3. giving up and using 110,000 miles to go to Asia for a week in December
I'd rather conserve the miles, as I don't really want to travel until Feb. Any help will be appreciated! I keep running the numbers and losing my mind.
Cheers!

I would suggest taking a vacation and then transferring the remaining miles into an account with whatever airline flies out of your new "home" airport

If you can redeem a first class award ticket to Asia with a stop-over in Europe, that would be the best option. Else, settle for Business and still do a stop-over in Europe to maximize your award.
BTW, welcome to Flyertalk!

it's too bad Asia Miles doesn't participate on the Global Points Exchange on Points.com as that would be a great way to preserve your miles (by transferring them into another program). But failing that, I believe there is a 25% bonus offer for transferring miles into Aeroplan (you get 25% more Aeroplan miles on any swap transaction from another program).
