My wife and I are in C on LH419 on 28 June. I believe we are in the new C, correct? We are traveling with infant and have reserved 10H/K which is the bassinet position. When I called LH, they confirmed that we still have those seats, and still had the bassinet, but he was unable to confirm that it was the new C. Anyone have any info on the bassinet situation in the new C? Are we on a 748, and the bassinet is in the same place? Or are we on an old 744? Thanks.

[KVS Availability Tool 7.0.2/Diamond - Sabre: Availability/FS/US]
Code:
IAD Washington Dulles Intl DC US [KIAD]
FRA Frankfurt Metro / Intl DE = FRA HHN [EDDF]
THU 28 Jun 2012

Carrier Flight From Depart To Arrive A/C St Availability

419 on that date is scheduled as the 748. Seatguru shows row 10 as a bulkhead which would make sense for it to be a bassinet location.

Sorry for the beginner question, but I'm a bit confused about what flights have the new C configuration. I'm planning on buying a RTW C fare with LH or LX.

What are the chances of flying the new LH C configuration on SIN - FRA/MUC or FRA/MUC-JFK. First flight around Aug 8 and second around Aug 25 or so, depending on Z availability.

Thanks in advance

Here's the recent flights on the three LH planes that currently have the new C:

A333

http://data.flight24.com/airplanes/D-AIKQ

748
http://data.flight24.com/airplanes/D-ABYA

Note that the 748 is exclusively running IAD-FRA right now. The 333's seems to bounce around a bit. SIN doesn't show up at all. JFK-MUC has been in the mix in the past.

There's another 333 now.

And there may be one more 748 by August.

As you can see A333s with the new C are based in MUC and the 748 in FRA.

So let me see if I understand this. Assuming I'm on a A330 with the "old" F product, exactly what am I getting? The flight I'm looking at doesn't seem to be updated.

Which route are you flying? BOS-FRA?

If you are asking about the old F cabin here are a couple of youtube videos you might like to check.

There were shot on the A346 and A343 on westbound TATL flights but the cabin will be the same on the A333.

If they fly the route you want choose LX, a much better seat.
But that won't help you with the SIN part of the trip.

But if it's an RTW it will be an *A RTW so you can choose other airlines.

Looks like the 346 with new C/F will loose 4 C seats and economy stays the same:

Retrofits of the 346 will however only really start in W12/13

Yes- great advice. On a *A RTW book SQ to SIN in business and use two evouichers to upgrade to F (will not work to R). Easy upgrade usually and a great use of both evouchers as a RTW books into D class and a great plane and service.

lufthansa.com now has only one seatmap for the 3-class 346 (8/48/270) listed but seatguru shows a different 3-class configuration (8/60/238). Whichever way the new configuration of 8/56/229 seems to have fewer Y seats than before.

8/60/238 (Y starting row 26) is the most common 346 flying around now.

So the new configuration will have fewer C seats and fewer Y seats - not the same as the current 346. I wonder why lufthansa.com does not show the most common configuration. EF seatmaps mostly show the 8/48/270 version as well.

That's the initial config...things will change again late 2013/early 2014

8/48/270 is the most common config right now as it's summer and most of the 744 & 346 fleets are in QC1 config, i.e. they have a reduced amount of business class seating.
