My Problem...

I live not far from LAX and a couple times a week I ride my bicycle down the bike path along the beach. At one point you are riding just west of the runways at LAX.

I realized that I have a problem. I was recently back from a quick MR to Hong Kong for Triple EQM, jet lagged and tired but as I rode a 747 was taking off and I found myself thinking "I wonder what that one is going..." and I felt this familiar itch -- I wanted to be on that plane, who cares were it is going.

I think I need to move somewhere that doesn't have an airport. I am like an alcoholic living above a bar

Oh well...

Go on, take a flight - what's a couple-a-thousand miles gonna hurt?

You're just a social flyer - you don't NEED to fly, you can quit any time you like.

Who ever starts FF Anonymous clinic will make a pretty penny out of it considering the number of addicts here on FT @:-).

Admitting you have a problem is the first step towards recovery.

Personally I don't see where you have a problem.

I propose the meetings be at strategically chosen locations around the globe, this week CDG, next week SIN, etc. I think my health insurance buys tickets if I'm traveling for treatment.

The meetings might start something like this, "Hi I'm Dabolix, and I'm a frequent flying addict and I flew 3,211 miles from SFO for this meeting . . .

Agree, and for the effectiveness of the treatment you HAVE to attend at least 10 in a row (and hit at least 5 continents). I'm off to find a shrink/social worker who will buy into this business model and also to check if I need to change the insurance coverage to be able to maximize the benefits.

I'm a leisure flyer and I wasn't on a plane from the second week in jan until April. I took a friend to the airport a couple of times in that period. I was getting so antsy. I think it was as bad as DTs. I live under the flight path for MEM, so I see airplanes all day long. Heck, I even think about getting a ride on a Fed Ex jet (and they don't give frequent flyer miles).

On the 29th I get on board for a month long trip. Yes!

But, then I have a couple of trips to CLE and one to California and that's it until next Jan. I'm not sure I can manage it!

Only a problem is the meeting is in OAK.

My cases of "booking finger" usually occur at work, I have a nice view of the eastern MSP approach.
