Lightbulb Ever do a Round-The-World MR?

Hi All,

I'm kinda bored so I'm trying to put together a MR run starting from SF and going full circle around the globe. My rule is I can only spend 1 night in any location if I absolutely must. I figure I can make it in about 96 hours all-in or less with a little bit of luck (might be a bit ambitious).

Anyway, I'm just starting to try to get such a trip together & was wondering if anyone out there has done something similar?

You may want to consider a twice round the world run (one eastbound, one westbound) using inexpensive round trips.

This would probably work out as better value, albeit at the expensive of flexibility.

You don't state which airline you are collecting miles with, if it's :-:A you could do this trip much faster, Kiwi Flyer and I did it in around 59.5 hours, for AKL-LAX-LHR-HKG-AKL, we could have done it in about 55, but built in a stopover in London as I had to visit my mother for her Birthday...

tht

p.s. this would be from LAX

Yep, they have 5th freedom on this route. (i.e., they can sell it)

Im doing one starting on Feb 5th from BUE. Its all cheap business and first class fares exept the bue-sao-joi legs (Y). It's not a purely MR cause I will stop a few days in some places.

As tht says, can be done in under 60 hours (see RTW in under 60 hours trip report). Or do over a bit longer period including more zigging and zagging for extra miles (eg see this report of 2 RTW plus side trips of 146,000 flown miles in 4 weeks). The latter was part of a run to lifetime status for me.
