Newbie - Help - Need 2000 UA by EOY

Newbie to the site, average 75,000 miles a year in travel - my miles are with United.

I'm just under 2000 miles short of hitting 100,000 miles to make 1K this year and need a quick run. My home base is PHL. I did some basic research on the site, but the best I'm coming up with is either PHL-FLL or PHL-RIC-ORD round trips.

I need some help in putting together a cheap-cheap mileage run, preferably for the 29th or 30th of this month

Any suggestions?

Welcome to FT!

What's the cost of the itins you put together, and how much do you want to spend?

Welcome and hope you'll find FT as useful as I did.

The MR Forum is for deals secured, not sought - this should be switched to the MR discussion, as noted in the sticky on the top of this forum.

Try Kayak buzz, it'll give you the top, or cheapest, 25 flights from your home city.

Happy travels.

PHL-FLL: $398

PHL-RIC-ORD: $298

I'm willing to spend up to $350. What I'm trying to avoid is spending a lot of time doing it - i.e. - layover < 1.5 hr between segments.

I need exactly 1731 miles to hit 100,000 EQM and make 1K.

You should be able to knock out that number of miles without much hassle. Perhaps something cheap to the west coast?

Check PHL-SMF. More miles for probably not much money. That being said, if you just care about the amount of time I'd guess that something like the RIC run would be much faster.

Do you have a UA MP Visa Card? With the PLT card you can exchange choices points for up to 5k EQMs/year. You may able to do this without getting on a plane. If you apply now for the PLAT card, and do a quick purchase you should get 5,000 EQM before EOY.

Another useful thread is the Consolidated "I Need XXX EQM/EQS by Year End" Thread (Discussion and Advice) in the UA forum.

Doubtful the EQM would post by year-end at this point, and results vary on whether the EQM would be retroactive to 2008 or apply to 2009.

Lots of options for PHL-MSY on US metal for $181 r/t. Should net you 2180 miles and can be done in about 8 hours. Flights are available for Monday (12/22) Wednesday and Thursday right now. On 12/30 same routing for $221 and on 12/31 for $201.

Happy flying.

Wow, that was tough to read

For the OP, I'd go PHL-IAD-RDU-IAD-PHL for $217 on the 30th. If you can do days other than the 29th or 30th, consider the same routing for $140 tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, or NYE.

This looks like the best deal/option, especially the $140 all in - any MR for under $150 is worth doing. Better hurry!
