[UNBOOKABLE] HA: LAX-SYD RT $283? Farecompare email

GOt the alert from Farecompare, looks like limited days of the week but through the end of schedule.

The big question... is it real? Don't see it yet.

Interesting. Farecompare is pretty unreliable when it comes to these crazy fares. There were several south pacific fares this year that never panned out. We'll see in a few hours if this is real, though.

$283 appears to be o/w?

I also just got the FC email. When I followed through and tried to price out a ticket, it appears that the $283 fare is o/w on Volare. From what I can find, Volare was an Italian Low Fare Airline that went bankrupt a few years back?

Cheapest I could find on Hawaiian is $595 o/w.

I got lucky and booked the Virgin Australia tix for June '09. I thought I was about to go visit the land down under two times in '09!

YMMV.

The cheapest I've been able to price Hawaiian out is at $950+/- from LAX or SFO (or $650ish from Honolulu, which is their regular price anyway).

The flights definitely exist, but the fare? I don't see it anywhere. If it was filed 4 hours ago, what's the time frame that we'd know whether this is real?

Just cry like a baby, and maybe...

I got a similar alert for PHX-MNL tonight, and in looking at the fare, it looks like an infant fare, without seat.

It is also listed at $283 AI from SEA. I've been looking and can't find it anywhere. If anyone does, let me know.

Some other flights on HA ex-SEA filed under this fare:

Manila $539
Pago Pago $624
Papeete $647

Sounds correct. Here's what the fare rules say:

"HOIN: Economy restricted fares H, for one way fares, for infant without a seat"
