Help with DFW MR / AA

First, I hope this is the right forum for this type of question. I got it wrong this morning. Sorry about that.

I am about 2k short of maitianing status on AA.

I found a post elsewhere with DFW - ORD - PHL - ORD - DFW for $200, but all I could find was the same for $364 ai (13 DEC 08)

Are there any other MR on the 13th or the 20th for less $ and around 2k EQM?

thx

ter.....you should ask a moderator to move your thread....the same thread in multiple forums isn't allowed....however, i believe that i saw a dfw-lax-dfw fare around $305 ai.....same day turn on a sat, for your needs, i would consider it better than a multi connection....good luck...

2k same day MR fr DFW to AUS and OKC

depends on whether you are restricted to weekends

I'm not seeing much out of DFW for 12/6-7 or 12/13-14

12/15 there's DFW-AUS-DFW-OKC-DFW for just under $200 a.i., nets 2000 EQM with the 500-mi min. per segment that's about to go away for non-elites.

hint: on AA.com try Multi-City, starting at 8am DFW-AUS, Morning dep. for AUS-OKC, Afternoon for OKC-DFW. You even get a couple of hours in OKC, enough for late lunch.

You should look at doing a MR originating in AUS and just drive to AUS. It will almost certainly be much cheaper than DFW (even though you'll have to connect in DFW). Use farecompare.com/flyertalk to find the cities that are having fare sales.

Thumbs up Dfw-ord-cmh-ord-dfw $238 ai

UncleDude....thx for the guidance. Great tip, will keep in mind for next year.. I need to learn to think more outside the box.

Photodave.....took the suggestion, CMH isn't one I would have thought of, nice catch.

I am now booked on AA for 13 DEC 08.....DFW-ORD-CMH-ORD-DFW all for $238 ai.

Start MR at about 0600 and back by about 1810. Long day, but woth EQM!

Thanks to all, have a great Christmas Holiday Season!

OP: I'm glad you worked out a suitable MR on a weekend w/o having to drive to Austin. Might I gently suggest starting earlier next year? I'd bet you'd get a much lower CPM and possibly even more interesting trip(s).

happy landings,
benzguy80

PS: thanks again to MillionMiler for the MR posts, EXP is within reach!

Realistic?

I am in a similar situation, but a little more precarious. At 83 segments YTD with at least 6 more before year end. Anyone find anything out there that would net 11+ segments for a reasonable price? I tried ITA, but it keeps timing out on me. Probably user error on my part, but it just seems to sit there thinking indefinitely.

Those cheap fares for the 13th are gone as of last night at midnight. I held a ticket yesterday afternoon for IND for the 13th, and the hold expired with the fare.

Anyone have any suggestions for the 14th, 20th, or 21st? I need a tiny 1736 EQM.

I'm starting to think I'll have to hit two of the DFW-AUS r/t's after work on a couple weekdays.

DFW-ORD-SPI-ORD-DFW $194 rt ai on the 14th yields 2604 miles

Hurry!!

For $7 more on the 22nd you could do DFW-STL-ORD-SPI-STL-ORD-DFW which nets 3100 miles.
