Hello. I'm a OnePass frequent flier based in Connecticut. I've never done a mileage run before and am excited to do one! I just need a little help getting the most miles for the least amount of $$$. After reading all the threads and links to websites I see that a mileage run is a true art! The dream maps tool on travelocity isn't working for me (and I registered an account). I've also played around with ITA. My one concern is that, as I understand it, if the fare that I pay is too low then I won't accrue that maximum amount of mile? Anyway if anyone could help me plan a MR out of BDL on Continental that'd be great!
Thanks, OnePass

Welcome to Flyertalk.

You'll get more help (useful help, at least) if you're willing to share some parameters, like how many miles you're looking for, how much $$$ you're willing to spend, whether you can fly any day(s) or just certain days or weekends, whether you prefer multi-segment domestic runs or whether you'd be willing to fly halfway around the world, etc.

Thanks FWAAA! I'm looking for any amount of miles really (say atleast 1500 or 2000). And I'm willing to pay anything around $300. Weekends work out for me best and I'd prefer multi-segment domestic runs. I did some research on ITA but I'm not really great at using that website yet. Thanks again and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have always considered mileage runs to be only a last minute resort when needing miles to requalify for a the certain elite level. Never can say that I ever looked forward to doing one though...

Fly more & get a better seat

If you have the time this weekend (and some expendable funds), check out VJ's seminar:

hi welcome to FT!!! Try www.kayak.com or http://www.farecompare.com/search/flyertalk.html (this page is set up for FT'ers and you can punch in your local airports and filter by carrier and see what's fares are tollerable to you. Neither are perfect but it will give you a jumping off point.

Good luck in your search, and be sure to keep checking out the mileage run deals, there aren't many lately, but things have a way of changing fast.
