Trying to learn

Hi Guys.

Been lurking around the forums for a while. Just starting to post now.

I'm trying to educate myself on building MR's and deals.

I went and got a subscription to ExperFlyer and found this fare. It is already posted in the deals section and I think is common Knowledge here.

DTT-BKK MON-01DEC08 NW
TAXES/FEES NOT INCLUDED
ADULT FARES
CX FARE FARE C AP MIN/ SEASONS...... MR GI DT
USD BASIS MAX
1 NW 668.00R THOL1 T 7| /30 24DEC8-26DEC8 R PA

SPECIFIED ROUTE: 0210
DTT-PDX/SFO/SEA-HNL-NGO-TYO-BKK
DTT-LAS-LAX-HNL-NGO-TYO-BKK
DTT-MSP-PDX/SFO/SEA-HNL-NGO-TYO-BKK
DTT-MSP-LAS-LAX-HNL-NGO-TYO-BKK

My new guy question is.. How do I book it?

When I put in DTT-BKK on NW site I get a price of $1500. Is the price on Expert Flyer one way? Do I have to tell it all the connecting flights? The site only allows for 5 flights.

Is this something I have to call the airline or TA to book?

To be honest I'm not actually doing this one for a MR. The fare is so good I'm trying to book the ticket for a friend. So if it prices the same with less connections that's fine.

Thanks for all your help. As much as this one is not for a MR I'm using it to help myself learn as I do want to start doing them on *A.

It's a round trip fare and $668+ is base, which means without fuel surcharges, taxes, fees. Total would be about $1100. Try Dec 10-25, for example. You know funky seasonality, do you?

Funky Seasonality?

You are right Dec 10 - 25 Prices at $1100.

How did you know that those dates would work? Both Dec 1 - 24 and Dec 10 - 25 come out the same price in Expert Flyer. How could you tell Dec 10 would price lower?

Try this syntax within valid dates (see above)

From DTW:: NW+ / F BC=T
To BKK:: NW+ / F BC=T

OP. Thanks for asking that question. I am still feeling my way around here and there are a lot of questions that I would love to ask myself. I have found prices on farecompare that were low and then I can't find them on NWA to save my life.
