NW DTW 8k EQM MR- What am I missing?

1. No. of miles/segments that you have at present.
42,574 miles, 14 segments

2. How many more miles/segments will it take to reach your goal.
7426 and too many segments for NW Gold.

3. Where are you are based.
DTW

4. Whether or not there is some place specific that you would really like to go.
No preference.

5. Dates you are available to travel are must a must - in both directions, please! Any time after Thanksgiving and before Christmas Eve- weekday or weekend.

I don't have any business travel plans scheduled for the remainder of the year. I'm told that next year will involve more travel so I want to qualify for NW gold. My amateur EQM MR search has not yielded results better than the current NW Europe sales from DTW to FRA or DUS. Certainly this can't be my best option. What am I missing? I've tried the ITA site but maybe I made some poor choices- DTW-SFO-MIA. . . Please show me the light.

Here are a couple of threads that might help:

For the SEA MR, you'd have to get there first.

Thanks for the info. ^ Seems kind of strange that (currently) my best option is the path of least resistance.

BTW, welcome to FT!

FareCompare.com, especially the getaway maps can be great. Since EQS aren't of any value to you this year, check out MRs on DL as well. Non-hub starting points can be helpful to add more segments to get to the same destination.
